How Islamic Cleric Was Kidnapped In Ondo

Security agents in Ondo State continued with their search, combing forests and hot spots for a Muslim Cleric that left home for his farm since Saturday, and has not returned.

The cleric, Chief Imam of USO in Owo Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Bodunde Oyinlade, may have been kidnapped by unknown persons.

It was gathered that the Islamic Cleric was abducted while working in his Asolo farm camp, around 3.00 pm on Saturday.

Aged 67, a family member confirmed that the kidnappers have contacted the family, but yet to demand for ransome as at the time of filing in this report.

Reacting, the Spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, Mrs Funmi Odunlami, confirmed that the case has been reported at the Uso Divisional Police station, adding that the DPO and his men with local vigilantes are currently in the bush to search for the Islamic cleric.

The PPRO said: “At about 6pm Saturday, a report was made at Uso Divisional Hqs, that the Chief Imam of Uso went to his farm in the morning and did not return.

“He was later traced to the farm by his people, they saw his phone and his vehicle intact but couldn’t find the man. The DPO and his men with local vigilantes are currently in the bush to trace / find the where about of the man.”
