“How I debunk My Own Death Report” – Fmr. President Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo disclosed on Tuesday how he read his own obituary on the social media few days ago.

Speaking in Osogbo, Osun State capital at the commissioning of a roundabout executed by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, the former President explained that he was woken up by calls from his relations to confirm the news of his death.

“Thereafter, I opened social media and read that I died the previous day. I am happy I debunk my own death story.

“I told those that called me if the report was true, they will not be hearing me talking. I want to tell you I know those behind the report.

Obasanjo is Nigeria’s former Military Head of State and two term Civilian President⁹.

His revelation was greeted with curses by guests at the ceremony who prayed for the former president, wishing him a long life.

He described Governor Adeleke as his dancing partner saying despite that he is dancing, he is still performing his duties effectively.

” Despite that he is dancing, he concentrates on his duties as Governor, which has made him to perform more than his predecessors within two years.

The ex President’s visit to Osun state was rounded up with a state banquet in his honour at the government house, Osogbo.
