“How A Cough That Looked Harmless Killed My Wife” – Professor Ralph Akinfeleye

Renowned Professor of Mass Communication, Professor Ralph Akinfeleye, has lamented how his wife died just because of a cough that seemed so ordinary.

Professor Akinfeleye lost his wife of almost 40 years – Chief (Mrs) Carol Anike Akinfeleye – to a brief illness.

Said the devastated Professor: “I’m still in shock because a cough that looked so harmless, and should have been treated with simple medication, landed her in hospital and she never came back alive.”

Continuing his lamentation, he said both of them were busy, excitedly planning, and looking forward to their 40th wedding anniversary, only for death to strike so suddenly.

“We were looking forward, with excitement, to our 40th wedding anniversary in September, as we discussed it daily. Just too bad and painful. But the Lord is on His Throne.

Mrs Akinfeleye, a former School Principal and Director of Education, Lagos State, held the Chieftaincy title of Yeye Gbekonuyi of Idanre Kingdom.

Her funeral ceremonies will be held on June 15 and 16 at Odode, Idanre, Ondo State.
