Hoodlums Set Lagos Police Divisions, Secretariat, On Fire, Attack Officers |The Source

Lagos was on fire Tuesday when hoodlums, under the guise of the #EndSARS protest, set ablaze two Police Divisions, Orile/Iganmu and Layeni.

Layeni is in the Ifelodun LGA.

In another part of Lagos, hoodlums, also, set on fire buildings inside the Ajeromu  Local Government Area.

The hoodlums who stormed the Police Division, Orile,  setting it on fire, also went on a killing spree, injuring Police Officers on duty.

The attackers, the magazine gathered, were not part of the #EndSARS campaign protesters, who had been protesting peacefully for days,  against Police brutalisation, extra judicial killings and abuse meted on the citizens.

The Hoodlums in their hundreds stormed the Police Station, brandishing dangerous weapons like cutlasses, bottles, clubs, matchetes and other dangerous weapons, chasing Police Officers on duty before setting the station ablaze.

As at the time of filing  this report, the magazine gathered that the reason for the action of the hoodlums was that the Police had, allegedly, shot at somebody, leading to the death of the young man.  The attack was a reprisal attack on the Police Station from hoodlums, was what played out,  eyewitnesses at the scene informed.

Videos of the incident and the jungle Justice meted on one of the Police Officer has gone viral.

The hoodlums had mobbed the Police Officer, hitting him with different dangerous weapons until he became lifeless.

The Chief Press Secretary at the Ajeromi LGA,  Sheriff  Fakunle, who confirmed the attack said thugs invaded the LGA Secretariat, looted  destroyed properties worth millions of Naira, and burnt vehicles.

Meanwhile, in obedience to the 24 hour  curfew imposed by the State Government, the Police has banned all forms of protests in the state.
