The quest for freedom by the second son of princess Diana, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan, will eventually cost them the Royal title, Buckingham Palace announced. In fact, they are to repay money used by the Royal family to renovate their residence.

Frogmore cottage, the residence of Harry and Meghan, was renovated with $3 million (2.4 million British pounds), and they are set to abandon the house in the quest for freedom.

They are no longer to represent the Queen in any event after stepping back from Royalty, neither will they receive funds from the palace. Harry will lose his privileges in the Royal Navy.

A release from the Buckingham palace indicated that they may be living most of their lives in North America. Meghan is already in Canada, and was expected to call into the meeting called to discuss their case at the palace but did not, CNN said.

“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family,” Queen Elizabeth II was quoted in a statement.
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family,” she said. “I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.”
“I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family”, the Queen had said.
CNN reports that the family has been discussing Harry and Meghan’s future after the couple made an announcement that they would step back from their roles as senior members of the family, split their time between the United Kingdom and North America and work toward becoming financially independent.
Saturday’s news came after senior members of the family held a meeting at the Queen’s Sandringham estate on Monday. Afterward, the Queen said she agreed to a “period of transition” while the final details of an agreement on the matter were ironed out.
