It will go down as one of the most cruel killings in Awka, Anambra State.
Gunmen, on Tuesday, stormed the Ezinifite Okpuno, Community, Awka South, LGA, Anambra State. home of Ifesinachi Onyekere, popular as “Fish Magnet”
He owned a successful enterprise “Fish Magnet Berbecue.”
They shot him, fatally and made away with his body in his vehicle.
The young, hardworking man was the only son of his mother, while his wife, Mrs Esther Chinyere Onyekesi, is currently, the State Woman Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
After they took his profusely bleeding body with them, they put a call to his mother and asked him to come and pick the body of his only son.
His family, friends and thousands of people are mourning him, and are in deep pain.
A business woman, Chioma Ifeanyi-Eke, who usually bought fish from him, recalled his last discussion with him during which he told the deceased that he was ordering fish worth N98,000. “Only yesterday, I was trying to buy fish from this Igbo boy that I love so much called Fish Magnet. I didn’t know he had been killed. I am deeply saddened at this news.”
In an emotional, tearful, tribute, activist, Martin Otshe, popular as VeryDarkMan, VDM, said the victim planned to gift him with fish. He revealed that Fish Magnet had posted message to the effect that he would send fish to him, VDM.
According to VDM, Fish Magnet said in the post:
“It will give me more joy to give these fish to VeryDarkMan than to sell them just as a way of appreciating him for all the good he’s doing in Nigeria and for coming to Onitsha, Anambra State to support traders. Please, help me tag him so I can get these fish to across.”
A weeping VeryDarkMan said: “Unfortunately, he will not be able to give me that fish because he was kidnapped and killed. What was his offence? If you check his page, all he does is promote his business. That’s all.”
There has been no statement, yet, from the Anambra State Police Command.
