“Banditry Could End In A Month If FG Is Serious, Ready”
Islamic Cleric and self-appointed Banditry negotiator, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, says that Banditry could end within a month if President Muhammadu Buhari’s Government is serious and ready to end it.
Gumi urged the Federal Government to give the Bandits needed support and also negotiate with them.
Gumi made this disclosure and call during the Sallah visit of Christian Cleric, Pastor Yohana Buru, at his residence on Friday, pointing out that banditry should never be used as an instrument of politics.
The Medical Doctor-turned Islamic Cleric urged the Government to deploy other measures that will offer the bandits better means of livelihood.
He said with the level of banditry in the country, there is an urgent need for negotiators to broker peace between the Government and the bandits.
It would be recalled that Gumi, with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, negotiated the release of the abfucted Kaduna Students of the College of Forestry.
