Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, still battling the unprecedented insecurity in his State, has dissolved his Cabinet, and sent all his Commissioners packing.
He also sacked his Chief of Staff but immediately appointed a replacement – Barr. Moses Atagher, who was the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
Terso Kula, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, disclosed that the dissolution affected only the Commissioners. All the other Political Aides were not affected. Speculation, however, is that they would be the next batch.
The Governor thanked the Commissioners for their services in the past two years, and hinted that some of them will be reappointed. He, however, urged those who may not be reappointed to continue to support his Government from wherever they would be.
The Commissioners were asked to handover to their Permanent Secretaries.
