He was installed to the delight of Borno Indigenes at home and in the diaspora.

The confirmation of the Shehu’s appointment was conveyed by the strong delegation of Borno State Government led by the Secretary to Borno State Government, Alhaji Usman Jidda Shuwa, FWC, the Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs, and the Director Emirate Affairs, Monday at the Shehu’s Palace, Bama, Maiduguri.
Recall that today marked the 7th day of the demise of the late Shehu of Bama, HRH Alh Kyari Ibn Umar Ibrahim El-Kanemi.
The king makers were applauded by the Governor for sticking to the long standing traditions of selection process in the nomination and appointment of new Shehu of Bama.
The king makers wielded the traditional mandate of selecting the new Shehu of Bama after carefully selecting three candidates from among the Shehu’s brothers, uncles and children. Thereafter, the names were submitted to the Governor who finally gave approval in favour of the eldest son of late Shehu Kyari, Alhaji Umar Ibn Kyari Umar Ibrahim El-Kanemi.
Congratulating the new Shehu of Bama, the Governor said the Almighty Allah would give His Highness, the required leadership charisma, strength, protection to run the affairs of the Emirate successfully.
