The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has pledged his administration’s commitment towards ensuring that eligible inmates of Nigerian Correctional Centers are released, empowered through vocational skills, as well as returning those of school ages back to school.
On an unscheduled visit to the Goron Dutse Correctional Centre in Kano to assess the living conditions of inmates ,Governor Yusuf secured the release of eight female inmates among whom were two pregnant women and two nursing mothers.

As part of his administration’s support, Governor Yusuf donated Cows, essential food items, blankets, mattresses ,and beverages.
However, at the Janguza Maximum Correctional Centre, the Governor expressed satisfaction both with its infrastructural facilities and the conditions of inmates.
He appreciated former Minister of Internal Affairs ,and scion of Kano retired Major General Abdulraham Dambazau for his efforts at establishing the facility.
The inmates at both Correctional institutions expressed their happiness over the visit which they described as confidence-building.
