Despite intense speculated rift, the Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, will, on Saturday, November,16, 2024, preside over the wedding fatiha between the last daughter of Senator Rabiu Kwankwanso and the scion of Katsina State born business mogul and owner of Mangal Airline, Dahiru Mangal
This is even as the Kano State Government- installed Emir Muhammad Sanusi, will host the marriage ceremony at his Palace.
The media space of recent has been saturated with news of alleged disagreement between godfather and godson – Kwankwaso and Gov. Yusuf.
But Governor Yusuf has strongly denied the existence of any rift between him and his benefactor, Kwankwaso.
In an interactive session with the media last week, Governor Yusuf described the rumoured rift as the handiwork of detractors out to build a political capital out of a non existent foundation.
A statement issued on Tuesday November 12, by his media aide, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the Governor will chair the marriage ceremony, between Dr Aisha Kwankwaso and Engr Fahad Dahiru Mangal, in the ancient city.
The wedding fatiha, according to the statement, will, also, witness many high profile personalities from all walks of life.
“The two prominent families are pleased to extend warm invite to friends, families, political associates, business community, organized private sector players, captains of industries, the religious and traditional leaders at the occasion scheduled to hold at the Kofar Kudu Palace of the Emir of Kano.
” We wish to extend a special invitation to all friends and political associate across party lines, for our daughter’s wedding, Dr Aisha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and her husband-to-be Engr. Fahad Dahiru Mangal” part of the statement reads.
Instructively, while Governor Yusuf will chair the event, Kano State backed Emir Mohammad Sanusi, will be both the chief host and royal father of the day.
For the record, the Kano ancient Royal Stool is presently under contest between Sanusi and Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, the eldest son of late Emir Ado Bayero.
The two are locked in a series of legal battle for the coveted traditional stool.
“The wedding will take place at the Kofar Kudu Palace of Emir of Kano, Khalifa Dr Muhammad Sanusi II on Saturday 16th November 2024 at 11 am”, the Governor’s media Adviser stated.
