Each of the about 3,200 Sokoto State Muslim pilgrims has been gifted 1000 Saudi Riyal ,an equivalent of N 450,000 by the State Government.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu who revealed this on Saturday while on a visit to the camp of the pilgrims in the Holy Land said the gesture is both for the Sallah celebration and to assist the pilgrims on their return journey to Nigeria after completing the Hajj exercise.
He congratulated them on the successful completion of their religious obligation ,and wished them a safe return back to the country.
This is just as he expressed satisfaction with the exemplary conduct of the pilgrims, noting that non has been found wanting by the Saudi authorities
He enjoined them to pray for the country, particularly, in its efforts at tackling insecurity and other developmental challenges.
Governor Aliyu reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment towards enhancing the wellbeing of residents ,including those of them in Saudi Arabia.
The Governor ,appreciated the efforts of the leader of Sokoto pilgrims ( Amirul Hajj ) Ummarun Kwabo and all other officials in ensuring a hitch free Hajj exercise for the pilgrims.
