Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
This decision, however, spares two cabinet members: Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, the Commissioner for Finance.
A statement by the chief press secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan on Wednesday, stated that as a result of the dissolution, all affected cabinet members are required to hand over government properties in their care to the accounting officers of their respective ministries.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the members for their service and contributions to the development of Ondo State, wishing them well in their future endeavors.
This move, which is seen a part of preparations for the inauguration of Aiyedatiwa, for the commencement of his regime, marks a significant change in the state’s administration, and it will be interesting to see how the new developments unfold.
Aiyedatiwa is expected to complete the two term tenure of late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu next month and commences his own term as Governor of the state.
He had won November 2024 Governorship election on the ticket of the All Progressive Congress, (APC).
