With the endorsement of Chief Victor Giadom as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, President Muhammadu Buhari has pulled the rug from under the feet of APC Chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
That is the opinion of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani- Kayode, who has consequently, advised Tinubu to retire.
Fani – Kayode, says Tinubu , has not only been retired from politics by President Buhari, he has been “thrown under the bus”.
Fani -Kayode said this while reacting to the decision of the President to recognise Victor Giadom as the acting Chairman of the APC.
The suspended National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, is very close to Tinubu. He, it was, who backed Oshiomhole to push former National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun from office. And has been backed by Tinubu in everything, including, it is alleged, the disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki from contesting for a second term in office. Obaseki had to quit the APC.
Tinubu, also, allegedly, backed him in rejecting Giadom as the Acting Chairman of the party.
Fani-Kayode also reeled other pointers to the retirement of Tinubu by President Buhari.
He said that the decision of the Court of Appeal to uphold the suspension of the National Chairman of the APC , Adams Oshiomhole , showed that it was all over for Tinubu .
He wrote on his Facebook wall, “First, Oshiomhole was kicked out by the Court of Appeal . Then his preferred replacement , Abiola Ajimobi, falls into a coma. Then his archrival , Giadom is recognised by Buhari as Acting National Chairman .
“Conclusion: It is over for Tinubu . He has been thrown under the bus and retired from politics. ”
Tinubu is believed to be nursing a Presidential ambition ahead of 2023, and was allegedly relying heavily on the support of an APC leadership which will be loyal to him to pull his ambition through.
