Doubles Salaries of all PAMO University Staff
A former Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, has commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara to high heavens.
Odili, regarded as the political godfather of Rivers State, having either produced or mentored, fully, most of those who are playing active politics in Rivers State of today, including Nyesom Wike, FCT Minister, Chibuike Amaechi, Celestine Omehia (all former Governors), spoke at the Fourth Convocation Ceremony of PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt which held on Friday, November 15, 2024.
Odili is the Founder and Pro-Chancellor of the University.
Applauding Fubara for keeping a level head in the face of difficult challenges, Odili said: “His Excellency, the Governor is a dogged fighter. He is resilient and has stood firm to govern. There is no Governor in Nigeria who has faced the challenges he has encountered.”
Responding to the economic situation in the country which has forced the Federal and State Government’s to increase the salaries of workers, Dr Odili increased the salary of every member of staff of the University by 100 per cent.
Odili: “I have the permission of the Chairman of the Board to confirm and announce that in compliance with the minimum wage regulation, all staff salaries are doubled.”
Fubara, an estranged political godson of Wike, has been facing the fight of his political life since three months after he was sworn- in on May 29, 2024. Suddenly sworn political enemies, a number of attempts, including an aborted impeachment, has been made by Wike loyalists to frustrate Fubara’s Government. The most recent is the stoppage of the Federal Allocation to Rivers State, no thanks to a Court order granted by pro-Wike Rivers State House of Assembly members.
Incidentally, Odili and most of his political sons, which Wike was before now, a proud member, are behind the Governor.
