Four Governors from the Northern part of Nigeria, are due to meet with members of Hausa community in Ibadan, Oyo state capital today, Tuesday, 16th February.
The Governors, arrived Ibadan Monday evening, and immediately met with the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, over the violence in Shasha Market, which led to the displacement of the Hausa-Fulani traders at the market.
The Governors are Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Abubakar Bello (Niger) and Bello Matawalle (Zamfara).
Government House sources revealed that the governors arrived at 7.03pm and were subsequently led into a closed door meeting with Governor, Makinde.
Governor Makinde was reported to have briefed his colleagues on efforts so far to end the carnage at Shasha market.
It was learnt that the Governors are due to meet with some stakeholders in Tuesday’s crisis at the Shasha market.
Others present at the meeting were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Mr Fatai Owoseni; Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Relations (Arewa Community), Alhaji Ahmad Murtala; Serikis representing Hausa communities among other stakeholders.
Makinde had earlier played host to Ondo state Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, who doubles as the Chairman, South West Governors Forum, during which they interfaced with warring factions in the crisis.
