A former British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has put a lie to the stories he said he usually heard and  read about the state of insecurity and development in the State.

Johnson spoke in Owerri where he was one of the scores of very high profile guests present at the two-day Imo State Economic/Investment Summit which began on Thursday, December 4.

He said before his arrival to  Owerri, he had read a lot of discouraging things about the state of insecurity in the State. But he said he refused to be discouraged and decided to proceed to Owerri. On arrival, he said he found Imo State serene and the people at peace.

He was, also, impressed by what the Governor has done, infrastructure-wise. He described it as fantastic and gave him thumps-up on, especially, his focus on providing the people with steady electricity.

Boris Johnson:  “When I decided to come to Owerri, I read some stuff and some people say there may be some security problems and I said, well I’m gonna go anyway. But we are here today in this conference and we are all feeling safe and secured, and I feel perfectly safe.

“Thank you Governor Hope Uzodimma for what you are doing. There’s rule of law and safety on the street (of Owerri), absolutely.
