British-born Nigerian Kemi Badenoch has emerged the leader of the United Kingdom, UK, Conservative Party.
She was announced leader on Saturday morning following an election against Robert Jenrich, where she scored 53,806 votes against 41,388 for Jenrick.
Before her election, Badenoch had held the position of British Business Secretary.
With her emergency, she stands a chance to become British Prime Minister, in any future election.
If she eventually did, Badenoch whose parents hailed from Ondo state Nigeria, before migrating to the UK, would be the first black woman to become British leader.
She replaced Rishi Sunak who had earlier stepped down as the Leader of the Conservative Party.
Sunak had led his party to a round defeat by the Labour Party recently.
