After its 4-2 triumph over Hungary in Belo Horizante at the on-going FIFA Under-17 World Cup Championship in Brazil, the Golden Eaglets are to face Ecuador in their second group match.
A victory over the Ecuadorians will cement a place for the Eaglets in the knockout phase of the competition.
Ecuador defeated Australia 2-1 in its opening match of the competition to have a-100 percent start at the tournament.
Both teams will be anxious to record a victory to have a game to spare before rounding off their group matches.
Coach Manu Garba of the Golden Eaglets said his team are prepared to face the South American side, having worked on the lapses in their opening fixture.
“We have gone back to the drawing board to re-strategize on how to improve better from our first match. Though, it is still work in progress.
“We are aware that Nigerians are eager to see a more formidable team than the squad of the opening match. We, however, remain optimistic as our heads are high in recording a victory to ease our our passage into the second round”, Garba said.
In the other group B match, Hungary will face Australia, with both teams locking horns to redeem their image and pride, having lost their opening matches, and to further brighten their chances of qualification to the second phase of the championship.
