World Soccer Body, Federation International of Football Association, FIFA, has released its ranking for the month of February for soccer Nations around the world.
Surprisingly, the Super Eagles of Nigeria maintained its position as the third best ranked team in the African continent, behind the Teranga Lions of Senegal and the Desert Warriors of Algeria. The team is in the 31st position in the world.
The Super Eagles garnered 1493 points, to remain the third-best team in Africa behind Senegal and Tunisia. Algeria (35), Morocco (43) complete the top five. Ghana (46), Egypt (51), Cameroon (53), Mali (56) and Congo DR (56) complete the top 10.
There are no movements in the world’s top 10 with Belgium, France, Brazil, England, Uruguay, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Argentina and Colombia leading the park.
The Coach Gernot Rohr Super Eagles team are yet to play any international match this year 2020, since its 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Squirrels of Benin Republic and the Crocodiles of Lesotho last year November.
With the Super Eagles continuing its qualification series for AFCON 2021 by March 2020, the possibility of the Super Eagles moving ahead in the ranking is in the offing depending on its performance in competitive matches and international friendlies during the FIFA breaks.
