The Super Eagles will end the Year 2024 as the 44th Best country in the world and Fifth Best in Africa.
In the latest ranking for the month of December by World Football Governing Body, Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, the three-time African Cup of Nations winner ended the year in 44th position spot as released by FIFA on Thursday. Eagles however remain fifth in Africa.
On the global stage, World Champions, Argentina, signed off for the year in top spot, with France (2nd) and Spain (3rd) joining them on the podium. As for those in the chasing pack, England (4th), Brazil (5th), Portugal (6th), the Netherlands (7th), Belgium (8th), Italy (9th) and Germany (10th) all retain their places in the upper echelons of the ranking. Indeed, that lack of movement is mirrored throughout the top 100, where there is not even the slightest bit of jostling for position.
The next edition of the FIFA Men’s World Ranking will be published on 3rd April, 2025.
The top Ten teams in Africa include; Atlas Lion of Morocco in first position, followed by the Teranga Lions of Senegal and the Pharaohs of Egypt in second and third position respectively.
Other teams are the Desert Warriors of Algeria, Super Eagles of Nigeria, the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire, Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, the Eagles of Mali, the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa occupied the last Seven positions in Africa’s top Ten teams.
