Pamela Shodipo has left her job with the United Bank for Africa, UBA. She is now an Executive Director with Fidelity Bank Plc, a development one industry player described as a strategic “cross carpeting” by one of the best professionals in the banking and financial sector.
Fidelity Bank announced Shodipo’s appointment on Thursday, saying she has been saddled to handle the South Directorate subject to approval by various regulatory bodies.
The Nneka Onyeali- Ikpe led commercial bank disclosed that it’s new hire is coming into the new role with 25 years experience covering public and retail banking within and outside Nigeria.
Until her new appointment, Shodipo was the Managing Director, UBA Benin Republic, the position she held for one year between November 2021 and December 2022.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Lagos and Master’s in Business Administration from University of Wales College of Cardiff, United Kingdom.
As part of her efforts to help her career in the ever mobile sector , she has attended several business, leadership and executive development programmes at world-class institutions including Lagos Business School, Harvard Business School and University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
She is also an alumna of Lagos Business School Senior Management Programme (SMP22) and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, CIBN.
Recall that Nnamdi Okonkwo, the Group Managing Director of First Bank Holdings also left his job as Managing Director, UBA Ghana to join Fidelity BanK. He later became the Bank’s chief executive in 2014, the position he held until December 2020.
