FG Bows To Pressure, Removes Controversial Acquisition Of Yacht From 2023 Supplementary Budget

Following the public outcry that trailed the plan to buy a Presidential Yacht, the Federal Government has removed the controversial Presidential Yacht Purchase from the 2023 Supplementary Budget.

The FG had planned to spend a whopping sum N5 Billion to purchase the Presidential yacht in the midst of an economic hardship, leading to mixed reactions.

Though, President Tinubu’s aide clarified that it wasn’t meant for President Tinubu, that it was meant for the Nigerian Navy.

However, Abubakar Bichi, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations disclosed that the budget for Presidential yacht has been transferred to Student loan.
