There is apprehension in Rivers State. On Friday, less than 10 hours to the conduct of the Governorship/House of Assembly Elections tension and fear reign in the State.
This follows protests by some Governorship candidates of opposition political parties whose supporters are allegedly being harassed.
The Candidates stormed the State Police headquarters, Friday, to protest against alleged intimidation by Governor Nyesom Wike.
The candidates who protested are Senator Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP), Tonye Cole, All Progressives Congress, (APC), Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Accord Party, (AP) and Tonte Ibraye, African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Their grouse is an alleged harassment and arrest of members of opposition parties by Security Agents working for Governor Wike.
They also demanded for the immediate release of all those arrested within this political period on the order of the Governor.
There are fears that violence is likely to be the order of the day during the Governorship/House of Assembly Elections in the State.
