Fayemi Begins Consultations Ahead Presidential Declaration

There are indications that Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, will soon announce his Presidential bid and join the league of aspirants from the South- west.

Already, All Progressive Congress, (APC) National leader, Bola Tinubu and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, both from the South-west zone are in the race.

Dr Fayemi, who is the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, (NGF) is holding consultations with Traditional Rulers and his colleagues in the NGF on his ambition.

The Ekiti State Governor was in Akure, Ondo State capital on Tuesday where he met with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and some Royal Fathers.

Fayemi confirmed that he is still on consultation with Monarchs, Governors and others before declaring his intention, officially, to run for Presidency in the 2023 general elections.

Dr Fayemi, spoke when he visited Governor of Ondo state Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Akure.

Governor Fayemi also visited the Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye, The Deji Of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi and former Afenifere leader, Chief Reuben Fasonranti.

According to him, Nigeria needs an experienced leader capable of improving on the developmental structure of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a remark, Governor Akeredolu appreciated Dr Fayemi and his entourage for the visit and wished him well in his consultations.

Last week, a parley, being spearheaded by Fayemi was held in Ibadan, Oyo state capital but was said to have been poorly attended by political big wigs from the region.
