The Bauchi State police Command on Friday ,April 11, 2025, announced the arrest of a 50-year old man, for allegedly raping and impregnating his teenage biological daughter.
Malam Umar Sule’s arrest followed a formal complaint lodged with the Ganjuwa Divisional headquarters by a concerned resident on April 3, 2025.
The suspect, a resident of Kurmi Ado Village in Gannuwa Local Council of the State, allegedly on a number of times have had carnal knowledge of his 17-year old daughter in his matrimonial room within the month of November 2024.
A statement from Ahmed Wakili, the spokesperson for the Bauchi state Police Command on Friday, informed that sequel to the complaints received, a team of operatives was dispatched leading to the arrest of the suspect in his Kurmi Ado community.
“During interrogation, the defendant willingly admitted his wrongdoing, and added that he had molested his daughter severally which led to her pregnancy of three months old according to a medical report.
Further details from the victim also confirmed the incident, where she corroborated the suspects statements, providing details of what transpired.
The incident happened when her mother traveled to visit her parents in Burra Village in Ningi LGA, Bauchi State, which her father took advantage of, and had se3ual intercourse with her.
Thereafter, on the return of her mother, she observed the victim was pregnant and questioned her about who was responsible.
The victim disclosed that it was her biological.father” the police spokesman stated.
But despite his purported confession,the police authorities have insisted on carrying out a full scale investigation to unravel the actual circumstances surrounding the development.
