Hon. James Faleke has shown solidarity with the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Leader and Presidential Aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives refuted claims by Minister for Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, that the former Lagos State Governor plays god and imposes candidates on the electorate.

Aregbesola had lashed Tinubu while speaking at different political rallies in Ijebu Ijesha, Ilesa and Iwo towns of Osun State. He  accused Tinubu of playing god in his actions and utterances, promoting godfatherism and alleged he  imposed Gboyega Oyetola as Governor on the people of Osun State against their wishes.

Faleke, however, completely disagreed with Aregbesola’s submission stressing that Aregbesola has unfortunately allowed his present personal opinions, interests and emotions to becloud his reasoning, beliefs and the teachings of his religion.

Faleke: “When many  of us, including, and especially, Hon  Aregbesola and our families look back to pre-1999 and see the level we were, and how God has used this same Asiwaju’s selfless efforts, sagacity, intellect, and money to mentor and promote us, we should be eternally grateful to God instead of engaging  in ego tripping.

“If for once we fail to have everything our way as before,  we should be humble enough to appreciate the fact that we can’t win  all the time.

“God will not come down physically but will use people to help us to achieve our goals and that role of destiny helper is what Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has  been, and is still playing.

“Asiwaju has never played God, rather his actions and utterances have always been divinely ordained.

“The man has always been guided by the spirit of God. There are so many politicians he has mentored and supported to greatness and they will forever be grateful to him.

“Take my humble self for instance. He did not know me from Adam. He does not know my parents. I’m from Kogi State, but look at how he has picked, mentored and supported me to what I’ve become today. Can that person be accused of playing god? No! Where that is coming from is to say the least, very disappointing,” Faleke said.

Furthermore, Faleke pledged the total support of the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency to the Presidential aspiration of Asiwaju Tinubu, reiterating that Asiwaju has all the qualities not only to govern Nigeria but also to take it to greater heights.

Aregbesola has come under strong criticism from every quarter, most especially from the APC circle, who feel that the former Lagos State Commissioner of Works is a betrayer and an ungrateful person.

The two-term Osun State Governor is, now, being probed by the Femi Gbajabiamila led House of Representatives over alleged misappropriation of N165 Billion Prison Funds.

The probe and accusations against Aregbesola is coming less than 24 hours after he lambasted Tinubu.
