Ex-Minister Of Health, Dr Haliru Alhaesan Dies

Former Nigerian Minister of Health, Dr. Haliru Alhassan, is dead. He died Sunday afternoon after a brief illness.

Alhassan was  66 years old before he bid the world farewell.

Until his demise, Alhassan was the Chairman, Governing Board of Health Services Management Board, Sokoto State, under the Governor Aminu Tambuwal-led administration.

He was, also, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and remained a strong Force in the Party.

His role in the growth of the Party led  to his elevation and appointment as the Minister of Health under the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration.

Alhassan passing has added to the long list of prominent statesmen in northern Nigeria who have died in recent weeks. He is survived by one wife and four children.

Family Sources say he will be buried at the Hubbaran Shehu burial ground in Sokoto tomorrow according to Islamic rites.
