Enugu Tanker Explosion Claims Several Lives, Vehicles

No fewer than 15 persons  were feared burnt to death in an explosion involving a fuel laden tanker on Ugwu Onyema, in Udi Local Councils of Enugu State.

The incident, according to a witness account, occurred at about 1130.am on Saturday January  25, 2025, with the tanker exploding while negotiating the sloppy express way.

Reports further indicated that the tanker fell, leading to the  spilling of petrol on the road before the fire started.

The resultant inferno burnt some vehicles and their occupants who were caught by the explosion on the highway

Although no official statements have been made concerning ,the cause (s) of the incident, and the casualty figures, it is feared that over 15 persons and several vehicles may have been burnt in the unfortunate explosion.

However, rescue efforts are said to be still ongoing, while official reports are being awaited.
