Inspite of  warnings by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu that the Command would not tolerate any gathering or protest of any form, protesters  remained defiant, and stormed the Lekki Toll Gate in memory of the #EndSARS campaign against Police brutality, extra judicial killings, extortion and abuse of fundamental human rights of citizens.

The protesters moving in a vehicular procession defied the heavy presence of Police and went ahead with the planned two-hour protest, forcing the Police to effect the arrest of some of them.

They were confined in a stationed Black Maria Vehicle.

It was gathered that a journalist of Legit.ng, an online media platform was also arrested by security operatives at the Lekki toll gate.

The phones, gadgets and other equipments of the said journalist were confiscated.

Odumosu had warned organizers and youths planning to stage a protest at the Lekki tollgate on Wednesday (today) to have a rethink and shelve the protests.

But the young Nigerians, under the aegis of #EndSARS memorial vowed to defy the order.

It would be recalled that Folarin Falana, AKA Falz, a well-known Nigerian rapper, and son of Human Rights Activist and Constitutional Lawyer, Femi Falana, had stated that Nigerian youngsters will not be hushed by anyone.

For defying its warnings, the security operatives began a show of force in response to the #ENDSARS Memorial Protest.

Over 20 Police Vehicles with heavily armed personnel are currently positioned at the tollgate in a bid to prevent any gathering of protesters.
