The Northern Senators Forum has sacked Senator Abdullahi Adamu as it’s chairman. He was replaced with Senator Aliyu Wamakko.
Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, made the announcement of the leadership change at the close of plenary on Wednesday.
Also, lawmaker representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has apologised to the Senate over his comments on the amendment of the Electoral Act to order the sequence of polls during general elections.
Senate had on Tuesday resolved to query him over his allegation that the move to reorder the polls was targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.
The lawmaker, however, raised a point of order at the plenary on Wednesday to apologise to the chamber and withdrew his comment.
