Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi is doing everything possible to disgrace the special adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu and dim his shinning light from the political landscape of the state.

Since Ojudu granted an interview in which he criticized Governor Fayemi for wasting the resources of Ekiti state on frivolities, there has been series of attacks on him from the home front, to the extent that his kinsmen in Ado have risen against him.

It was learnt that, some ward leaders were forced to return bags of rice donated by Ojudu to cushion the effects of Corona Virus pandemic since March to the residence of the Senator just last week acting on order from Fayemi.

Ojudu: Regrets Supporting Fayemi For Governor

Efforts are in top gear to get some ward leaders to pass a resolution to suspend Ojudu from the All Progressives Congress, (APC) all in an attempt to rubbish him and make him irrelevant in the politics of the state, competent sources close to the senator told the magazine.

Ekiti state house of assembly have also risen against Ojudu and declared him personal non grata, as part of the plan to exert pressure on him, watchers of the ongoing political dog fight between the former journalist turned politician said.

The 26-member assembly rose at the weekend to condemn the senator who they accused of attempting to turn the house against the state government.

The Assembly members in a statement signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs Yemisi Ayokunle claimed that there’s no member of the house that has any relationship with the politician.

“The attention of the Honourable Members of Ekiti State House of Assembly has been drawn to a statement made by former Senator Babafemi Ojudu on a programme of New Cruse F.M 92.7, Ikere Ekiti on June 27, 2020.

The former Senator claimed that some unnamed members of Ekiti State House of Assembly are sending to him, ‘documents of wrongdoings by the Ekiti State government under Governor John Kayode Fayemi’.

“Ordinarily, we would not have dignified the erstwhile Senator with a response, but because of the evil machinations of human minds and the possibility of some gullible minds believing his lies, he should not be allowed to go away with his blue murder and barefaced lies.

“There’s no doubt, this is a red herring from a persona that has been variously described as ‘anger and conspiracy’ in motion; whose trademark is blackmail and unquenchable knack and ability to trade anything for pecuniary benefits.

“Members of the house are men of integrity and set of focused representatives of their people, who cannot be swayed by a character like Ojudu who prefers to rule in hell than serve in paradise.

“We give the Senator blank cheque to come out with his facts and the personalities involved in his concoction and tissue of lies.

“The 6th Assembly is too focused in making laws for the good of our people. We are doing this in active collaboration with the other arms of government especially the Executive arm.

The Five Pillars Agenda of the government of Dr. Kayode Fayemi is too sacred that we cannot be distracted by a incurable cynic like Senator Ojudu.

“We’re indeed glad that all the efforts of good governance have been made possible by the enabling laws emanating from the House. They are yielding positive results, despite the general dwindling financial resources. Everybody can see these except the ostrich among us, like the Senator,” the statement added.
