The late Leader of Ijaw Ethnic Nationality and Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Chief Edwin Clark, will be interred on May 13, 2025, in his home town Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Council of Delta State, his family has announced.
The former Federal Commissioner of Information, and prominent son of Ijaw ethnic nationality, bowed out from mother-earth on Monday, February 17, 2025, aged 97 years.
A statement issued on Saturday, April 5, 2025, by his eldest son, Penaowei Clark, informed that the final home journey for the outspoken PANDEF leader will begin on Wednesday, May 7, with a lecture at the Nigeria Air Force, NAF, Conference Centre and Suites in the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the statement, a Valedictorian session will be held on Thursday, May 8, in the Senate Chambers of the National Assembly for the late Elder Statesman ,who was also a one time Senator of the Federal Republic.
This will be followed on Friday, May 9, by a Day of Tribute, at the same NAF Conference Centre Abuja.
Similarly, the statement indicated that there will be a special wrestling contest in the Bayelsa State Capital, Yenagoa, on Saturday May 10, while a service of songs will be conducted same day at the St James Anglican Church, Asokoro Abuja.
Before departing Abuja for his final home journey to Delta State, a Commendation Service and Valedictory Court session will be held in his honour at the National Christian Centre Abuja and High Court of Justice In Warri Delta State on Monday, May 12, 2025 respectively.
“Body departs Abuja for Yenagoa ( Monday 12, between 1:30 and 2: 30 pm) Bayelsa for Commendation Service at Ijaw House”, the family stated.
He will be laid in state in Warri, Delta State, before departure at 7 pm for his country home same Monday, May 12, 2025 for burial on Tuesday May 13.
