Despite Odds, 23  Enugu Correctional Centre Inmates Bag University Degrees

In a rare display of resilience and determination,  23 inmates of Enugu Correctional Centre, on April 13, 2024, bagged various degrees from the National Open University of Nigeria NOUN, Enugu Study centre.

Mrs Jenifer Nwonyi, Coordinator of the Enugu Centre of NOUN who presented the Degree Certificates to the graduands during a virtual graduation ceremony held on Saturday, April 13, at the NOUN’s Correctional study  center in Enugu, noted that it is gratifying that the graduands were able to surmount all odds to achieve the feat .

She expressed appreciation to God Almighty for granting the graduating inmates the grace of not allowing their present situation to dampen their spirits.

Seventeen of the inmates were conferred with first degrees, while five bagged Masters degrees, with one graduating with a postgraduate Diploma.
