The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has suspended all political activities over the death of Ifeanyi, the three year old son of star musician, David Adeleke, popular as Davido.

Davido is the son of Deji Adeleke, the quiet financier of the Party in the State. The Governor elect, Senator Ademola Ifeanyi Adeleke, is Davido’s uncle. Davido named his son after the Governor-elect. Davido is also a Youth Ambassador of the PDP.

Already, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested eight Domestic Staff members, including Ifeanyi’s nanny in order to know the circumstances surrounding the boy’s drowning. His parents were away to Ibadan when he died. He was said to have been underwater for a long time. By the time he was seen, it was late. He was confirmed dead, on arrival, at the Ever Care Hospital.

A statement issued by the Osun State Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the PDP, Dr Adekunle Akindele,  reads: “Following the death of Ifeanyi, all party activities are hereby suspended to commiserate with the  family of Adeleke.

“We mourn the sorrowful exit of our son, Ifeanyi. We pray for the repose of his soul. It is a sad day, but we remain steadfast in our fate in the Lord of the Universe.

Ifeanyi, expectedly, will be buried in Lagos on Tuesday, 1st November, 2022.
