President Muhammadu Buhari tasted the anger of terrorists Tuesday when armed men opened fire on the advance security of the presidential convoy.
Barely few hours after, the terrorists also attacked and bombed Kuje medium prison in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The daring terrorists brandishing high calibre weapons, were said to have released 300 inmates of the prison during the attack.

The president convoy was deployed ahead of his trip to Daura, Katsina state for Sallah celebrations.
In a statement, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said the armed men were repelled by a joint contingent of police, DSS and the Military.
The statement , titled, ‘Gallant Presidential guards repel attack on advance team ahead of President’s visit” read in part:“The Presidency has described as sad and unwelcome, the shooting incident near Dutsinma, Katsina State, at the convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol and media officers ahead of the President, Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Daura for Sallah.

“The attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.

“Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered. All the other personnel, staff and vehicles made it safely to Daura.”
Meanwhile, the terrorists that attached Kuje Prison were believed to had detonated a high calibre bomb at about 10:25pm followed by a second and third blasts as well as sporadic gunshots that threw residents into panic mode.

It was gathered that the Correctional Center had earlier received an intelligence report that one of its facilities would be under attack.
As at Tuesday morning, the magazine learnt that the Minister of Defense and all the service chiefs have gathered at the facility to have a first hand assessment of the attack.
“The minister has directed the security agencies to fish out the terrorists by sorounding the entire facility and adjoining areas. The belief is that the attackers could not have gone far since the attack happened in the night,” a source said on Wednesday.
