For joining the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, the management of Dangote Refinery has sacked all its workers.
The development comes barely few weeks after the federal government brokered truce between the company and NUPENG over labour disputes.
The disputes came after Dangote said it will not allow drivers of the over 4000 CNG-powered trucks it recently acquired to unionize.
While confirming the sack, PENGASSAN President Festus Osifo, who also doubles abs TUC National President confirmed the sack, saying are on to ensure that the employees are recalled.

“I can assure you that they will recall all of them,” Osifo said.
Political commentator Imran Wakili had earlier shared the information on his X handle, and the sack letter has gone viral on the social media.
“Dangote Refinery has officially laid off all of its Nigerian workers under the guise of ‘reorganization’, less than 24 hours after 90% of them joined PENGASSAN,” he wrote.
Referring to a memo dated September 25, 2025, and signed by the Chief General Manager of Human Asset Management, Femi Adekunle, the company said the decision was part of a “total re-organisation” following reported sabotage in several refinery units.
