Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote has promised that products from its multi-billion Petrochemical refinery would be churned out soon.
The business mogul spoke on the sidelines of Africa’s Saudi Arabia business roundtable in Riyadh.
According to him, the refinery has received over 300, 000 barrels of Nigeria’s crude from the Nigeria National Petroleum Company, NNPC, and will start production shortly.
“We’re more than ready and you will see our gasoline products soon,” Dangote said.
The assurance would be well received by not a few Nigerians who have been waiting for the refinery to commence operation.
Dangote had during the commissioning of the refinery by former President Muhammadu Buhari in May this year, promised to start delivering refined products from the refinery in July.
“Our first products will be in the market before the end of July, beginning of August this year,” he said.
Experts insist that the Refinery could save Nigeria close to N7 trillion annually in fuel subsidy payments by the time it begins operation.
