A very appreciative outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has promised to give President Bola Tinubu his best as he assumes duty as the President’s Chief of Staff.
Gbajabiamila was on Friday, 2nd June, 2023, announced as the Chief of Staff to the President. “I shall give my best when I take office on June 14, 2023, as reflected in Mr President’s official letter”, he pledged in a tweet.
He was full of appreciation to Tinubu for finding him worthy for the unconstitutional, but very powerful and high profile office. He said:
“Thank you Mr President @officialABAT for finding me worthy of being your Chief of Staff.”
Then, he flaunted his qualifications for the job.
“Having spent the last 20 years in the Nigerian Parliament, and after winning my 6th term election into the National Assembly, I shall work with Mr President in discharging the enormous task ahead of him for the peace and progress of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Gbajabiamila won his sixth term election to the House of Representatives but never bothered to collect his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, obviously because once Tinubu was declared President-elect, he knew he was not likely to need the CoR from INEC.
First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, has since congratulated Gbajabiamila on his appointment. She described it as “merited”.
