Bauchi Helmsman Had Contact With Many Governors

The news that the Governor of Bauchi state Bala Mohammed, met briefly with son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who has now been diagonosed positive for the deadly coronavirus is causing panic in the presidency.

The sad news has also sent jitters across the 36 state’s capitals in the country.

Days after meeting with Atiku’s son, the Bauchi helmsman attended the Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF aside being part of the National Economic Council, NEC meeting, presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The knowledge that their counterpart had contact with a Covid 19 patient has not stopped worrying all the governors and deputy governors that attended the NGF meeting with Mohammed, sources close to some governors have told the magazine.

Some presidency officials are also in panic, the magazine learnt, because of the fate of Osinbajo, and others who attended the NEC alongside Bala Mohammed, but whose statuses are yet to be determined.

The Cable had reported that the confusion in Aso Rock may have led to the cancellation of an event today by Professor Osinbajo.

Officials of the National Centre for Disease and Control, NCDC, the magazine was told are now worried on those who shook hands with Mohammed and those that interracted  closely with him during the two meetings last week in Abuja.

Focus is now on Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti state who presided over the NGF meeting, other governors and deputies who represented their governors.

Asishana Okauru, the director-general of NGF, and Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, the head of media and public affairs, andctheir families and friend have now become the primary concern of NCDC, the magazine was told.

All these people are currently under surveillance, it was further learnt.
The Cable said, the governors also met with officials of the  World Bank at Fraser Suites, located at the Central Business District Abuja last week, all of whom will be eager to know their status in the next few days.
