The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has called on President Bola Tinubu to either amend his ways or risk electoral humiliation in 2027 .
This is even as it dismissed speculations suggesting the exit of its National leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso from the Party.
At an interactive session with the media on Thursday, January 2, 2025, Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, the Kano State Chairman of the NNPP, noted that the President still has enough time to review some of his anti-people policies and avert a looming electoral catastrophe .
According to him, President Tinubu, so far, has embarked on many anti-people policies which are enough to earn him a total rejection by the people should he present himself for re-election at the next polls.
“The President has done many things wrong that offend the Nigerian people irrespective of ethnic, religious and political persuasions.
“The only thing that can save him is a holistic reversal of the anti-people polices which his administration has embarked upon from inception.
“We never had a President in the history of Nigeria that fired reeled out anti-people policies from the podium and thereafter roll out controversial policies that have knocked down the citizens to comatose one after the other” Dungurawa stated .
The NNPP chairman particularly ,singled out the recent disputed tax reforms bill ,together with the hasty removal of petroleum products subsidy as some of the policies that are completely insensitive to the interests and wellbeing of the people ,.
” The tax reforms bill is one anti-people policy too many by Mr President . We are made to understand that going by the provisions of the tax reforms bill ,if I die today ,certain percent will be yanked off from my inheritance to Government coffers .
My sincere advise to Mr President is for him to either change and or we change him 2027″ Dungarawa noted
Further speaking, the NNPP chairman accused the All Progressive Congress APC led Federal Government of trying to foist on the country a one party state .
While insisting that the NNPP led administration in Kano has so far creditably acquitted itself ,Dungarawa however singled out the unrelenting quest by president to muzzle opposition parties as the greatest challenge facing the state Government.
He however advised the Federal Government to channel its energy towards improving the living condition of the people ,rather than fighting imaginary enemies
Dungarawa ,described as false ,misleading and totally mischievous insinuations that Kwankwaso ,will be leaving the party to join forces with the APC .
According to him, such rumours are mere propaganda being promoted by some mischievous elements to undermine the political interest of Kwankwaso .
