Godwin Emefiele, the immediate past Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, CBN, has been released from Kuje Co Correctional Centre.
His release from prison comes two days before the Christmas.
According to the spokesperson of the Correctional Centre, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Adamu Duza, the sacked former apex bank boss was released on Friday after meeting his bail conditions.
Emefiele was remanded in prison last month after failing to meet the N300 million bail conditions set for him by an FCT high court.
The former CBN governor is being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on alleged procurement fraud.
He has been in government detention following his sack in June this year by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
