President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the immediate removal of the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (rtd), as the Boss of the Enforcement agency.
This is part of the re-engineering process of the President Buhari administration as the new year began.
The ousted NDLEA boss was appointed on January 12, 2016. The former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr. Babachair Lawal, signed his letter of appointment through a letter with reference number SGF.35/S.5/11/272.
In a twist of event, in a letter dated January 7, 2021,* and signed by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Boss Mustapha, Abdallah was mandated to handover to the Secretary of the agency, Shadrach Haruna, on or before Sunday, January 10, 2021.
The Source Magazine gathered that Abdallah, who was in the United Kingdom during the notice, had to cut short his trip, and hurriedly returned to Nigeria Saturday, as the news came as a shock to him.
He was said, by a reliable source, to have been caught unawares by the sack.
His return was to evacuate office and move out his personal items from the office for a transition process to take place.
