President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has sacked all the Service Chiefs in a major shake-up of the country’s military and security architecture in general.
In their place, the president has also appointed the following as the new Service Chiefs with immediate effect.
Maj. Gen. CG Musa is the new Chief of Defence Staff, CDS; Gen. T Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Ogala, Chief of Naval Staff; Air Vice Marshal H B Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff.
Also appointed by the president is Kayode Egbetokun as the Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP.
Meanwhile, the appointment of Nuhu Ribadu, a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, according to analysts is the biggest one to have been made by the president since he came to power on May 29.
The former anti-graft tsar had earlier been appointed as Special Adviser on Security by the president.
