The Supreme Court has upheld the election of the immediate past Minister for Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, as the rightful candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akwa Ibom North-west Senatorial District.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, had challenged the ruling of the Court of Appeal which ruled against Akpabio as the rightful Candidate for the February 35 Senatorial elections, and upheld the candidacy of retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udom Ekpoudom, as the rightful candidate.
A five-member Panel of Justices, led by Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, ruled on the issue.
