Shootings reportedly went on at the Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, the headquarters of the #EndSARS protesters, this evening.
Audio and video recordings from the scene indicate that heavy shootings were going-on, and a number of the protesters were shouting “sit down, sit down. They are shooting at us. Four people have been killed. No problem. No problem. Shoot us, shoot us.”
As they were saying those, one of them was waving a large Nigerian flag.
It is not known who were shooting, but the Lagos State Government on Tuesday, imposed a-24 hour curfew in the state over the bloody violence. Schools had earlier been closed.
At least, two headquarters of two Police Divisions in Lagos were attacked and burnt down. A Local Government Headquarters was also attacked and vandalised, and fatalities were recorded.
The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, in response to the violence, has deployed the Anti-Riot Policemen to maintain peace in Lagos and other states.
