Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is dead.
The Senator who, until his death, represented Anambra South Senatorial District in the Senate, died Friday night in London.
A reliable source told this medium that Ubah who, recently, travelled to London, slumped at an event, and passed on after all efforts to revive him failed.
Ubah was a business man, serial entrepreneur and politician. He was the founder and owner of Capital Oil.
He had traversed Political Parties and had sought to be the Governor of Anambra State on, at least, three occasions.
Recently, he dumped the YPP under which he went to the Senate twice for the All Progressives Congress, APC, and was planning to challenge Governor Charles Soludo for the Governorship seat. He had been a member of the Senate since 2019.
Even though the cause of his death is not yet known, those close to him confirm he had always, for years, had problems with his heart. This has led to the speculation that he died either of a cardiac arrest or a massive heart attack.
Recall that Ubah, in September of 2022, survived an attack by gunmen who ambushed his convoy in his native Anambra State. He survived the ordeal thanks to his bullet proof SUV, but at least five people, including his Security Details were not that lucky. They lost their lives.
A known philanthropist, he used his Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation to carry out a number of laudable projects and helped the underprivileged.
A couple of years ago, while still at the Senate, he read Law at the Baze University, Abuja.
His death has thrown his native Nnewi into deep mourning and confusion.
Born on September 3, 1971, he was from Otolo, Nnewi, Anambra State, and was happily married to Uchenna, with whom he had lovely children.
More details, later.
