After a long, tortuous trial, a federal court in Abuja has finally convicted former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Olisa Metuh of money laundry charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Metuh has been facing corruption charges of diverting N400 million to private companies since 2016.
Presiding Justice Okon Abang found Metuh guilty of three out of the seven charges against the PDP ex-spokesperson.
Abang: “It is my view that Metuh took possession of the N400 million from the office of the NSA without contractual agreement; he is guilty of money laundering and is hereby convicted on count one,” Mr Abang said while delivering the judgement.”
