Forget his suspension as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is dancing. In suspension, he is victorious.
His hand-picked candidate for the APC in the September 22 Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has won the APC Primaries held in the State on Monday, June 22.
Announcing the Pastor winner, in a landslides victory, Chairman of the Edo Primary Committee, Governor Hope Uzodinma,of Imo State, said Ize-Iyamu scored a total number of 27, 838 votes to defeat former Deputy Governor under Oshiomhole, Dr Pius Odubu (3, 766), and Osaro Obazee (2,751).
To install Ize-Iyamu, it is strongly believed, was one of the reasons Governor Godwin Obaseki was disqualified during screening.
If Obaseki gets the PDP ticket as expected, the two men will square up. If they do, it will be their second meeting.
Their first was in 2016 when Obaseki flew the APC flag, and Ize-Iyamu, the PDP flag. Now, the reverse is the case. Then, Oshiomhole had campaigned against Ize-Iyamu calling him an armed robber. Today, he is campaigning for him against Obaseki.
In 2016, Obaseki defeated Ize-Iyamu.
