The Secretary to the Government of Ondo state, Ifedayo Abegunde has resigned from his position, thus compounding the political misfortunes of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who has been in isolation since he contracted the corora virus last week.
Close watchers of the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s administration told the magazine that the former SSG was headed for the Peoples’ Democratic Party, in few days.
Abegunde’s departed the administration barely two weeks after the Deputy Governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi left the ruling All Progresives Congress, APC and joined the opposition, PDP.
The deputy governor has since picked up his nomination form to square it out with his boss in the November Governorship election.
Confirming his resignation to newsmen, the SSG stated that his next political move will be decided in hours.
“Yes it is true, I have resigned my appointment as Ondo State SSG this morning,” he told Thisday.
